Leyes de cuidado

 Esta base de datos contiene la legislación de cuidado existente a nivel nacional y subnacional contenida en las cartas constitucionales y otros instrumentos legislativos de los países de América Latina y el Caribe. Se entienden las políticas públicas de cuidado como aquellas destinadas a garantizar el bienestar físico y emocional cotidiano de las personas con algún nivel de dependencia, que intervienen sobre la organización social del cuidado y establecen los derechos al cuidado.

 Las leyes recopiladas se refieren a: licencias maternales para el cuidado y la lactancia, paternales, parentales y de cuidados de dependientes de distintos tramos etarios; establecimiento y facilidades de acceso a servicios de cuidados extra-hogar, leyes anti-discriminatorias en el empleo para madres y padres, seguridad social en caso de maternidad y asistencia médica preventiva y curativa de los hijos o hijas, normativa para promover la maternidad y paternidad responsable, legislación de responsabilidad compartida para las familias y la comunidad, cuidado y mecanismos de integración social de personas con discapacidad, transferencias monetarias para cuidadoras, y normativa constitucional para personas proveedoras de cuidado no remuneradas.

Este repositorio de leyes de cuidado del Observatorio de Igualdad de Género de América Latina y el Caribe, cuenta con más de doscientos cuerpos legislativos de 36 países de la región.
