Establishes the conditions for the maternity benefit, which during the period of confinement of 12 weeks shall consist of an allowance if the woman is an insured woman, and a grant if the woman is the wife of an insured husband.
Maternity allowance shall be granted to a woman for a period starting from a date not earlier than six weeks before the expected date of confinement, and continuing until the expiration of twelve (12) week, with a daily rate of sixty-five per cent (65%) of the insurable earnings of the insured woman divided by six. Additionally, the amount of the maternity grant shall be a lump sum of five hundred and twenty-two dollars ($522) per confinement, payable to insured women before or after confinement or to a husband whose wife cannot qualify on her own. Women are entitled both the allowance and the grant, husbands can only qualify for the grant.

It regulates the conditions that must be satisfied to get maternity benefit, duration, and the rate of benefit.

This Act adresses sexual violence in schools and education institutions.
